The Story of the Tattoo Parlor

The Story of the Tattoo Parlor

Hi, I’m John Ed Mathison. Robert Bader
has a tattoo shop in Iowa. One day, a man came in. He had a new grandchild, and he
said, “I’d like to get her name, the tattoo, on my arm.” When they looked at it, it
would be right next to a very racist, vulgar tattoo, and he was embarrassed
about it, and Robert said, “I’ll tell you what. I can take that tattoo off and put
your grandchild’s name right next to it.” And he gave him an idea. A lot of folks
who have done things in the past, they don’t really want today, particularly with tattoos,
and so, racist and ugly tattoos. He just decided to open a new shop called
Retrospect Tattoo Parlor. He takes off old tattoos and puts on new ones. He does it
because, he said, “I just want folks to have a second chance in life.” You know, in
life we need second chances. Now, you can take off an old tattoo, vulgar, it might
be. Jesus always just looked at, uh, filthy politicians and prostitutes, didn’t
matter to him, he gave them a second chance. God is in the second chance business. Now
Robert doesn’t even charge to do it, it’s free. God’s grace is free too. He can take
a mess and make a message out of it. Let him do that in your life today.
