My name is Juan Puente.
I work at Black Card Tattoo in San Francisco, California. As of late I’ve been doing a lot of black and gray
which is the first style I learned from Corey Miller in Upland, California,
but I do just about everything, you know. My client today has been a friend of mine
since we were young. Like… He was the older punk rocker
when I was a younger punk rocker. Like, maybe he bought the beer
before I could buy the beer and so we’ve maintained this friendship
30-plus years at least. And the tattoo that was below the tattoo
I did today was of his grandson who passed away and I did that tattoo and, you know, it’s
a difficult time for him and his son and stuff like that. So, I did that
and he wanted to put something above it. I’ve always loved the Rose of No Man’s Land
just the image of nurse, you know, like salvation, whatever you want to call it, you know, and then I showed it to him, he was like,
‘oh man, I love it’ and that was it, you know,
the rest of today.
