Tattoo ‘N Travel #3 : Nepal Tattoo Convention

Hi, welcome to a new episode of Tattoo ‘N Travel Today I bring you to Nepal for the 6th International Tattoo Convention of Kathmandu I’m super excited and scared too but I look forward to be there! Ndlr : Questions to Bijay Shrestha who organize the convention with Mohann Tattoo I come from Toulon in the Var (France) I work everywhere, in US, in Europe. I travel. My name is Thomas, I’m 31 year’s old. That’s my baby! I am Loïc, I work in Geneva in a studio called “Nuit noire Tattoo”. I consider my tattoos like armors for mens, and jewelleries for womens. I do mostly old school style and lettering Birt Grimm, Cap Coleman, Owen Jensen, Sailor Jerry, all those classic that I twist in my own style. Big work, a lot of really good artist, in particular, the local artists, they are really good! It’s good to meet people from everywhere, and to meet french is good too! I can’t be happier, the weather is nice, people are very nice, the food is good I’m a little bit sick but that’s ok I’ll come back every year, people are juste lovey here! A little bonus with Marie “Mademoiselle Hirondelle” Hi Marie, thanks to be with us! How are you? I’m good Do you feel ok, ridding this elephant? It heaves a litlle bit But I trust the pilot and the elephant, and the fate too! Marie, tell us about your style your inspirations and your universe? I love the animals, and the plants! I always loved it! I grew up in Nancy, a city of “Art Nouveau” I’ve been exposed to that, so it influenced me. After, I work in the cartoon business, I watched a lot of japanese anime and manga, so it influenced me as well, and to finish, I also grew up in the US, There’s always a litlle bit of “My littlle pony” and other girly things in my work. How is Nepal, and the Tattoo Convention? Listen, Nepal is a really beautiful country. I wasn’t expecting much about it before I came. Appart from what I heard before In particular from my boss. And to be honest, I found it really, really great! People are extremely nice! The food is so good, even if you can be a litlle bit sick at first. About the convention, it exceeded my expectations. Because, people were very friendly, There was no competitive atmsophere like we can usually have There were artists with very different universes and a very good level And also some local artists So I found it really cool! Really nice. And about organization? They provided us food!!! They gave us a lot of material, they were nice, they were listenning to us Frankly, Nepalese are really great! You can’t push them, but they do what they have to, right on time. And the clients were great too! Thanks Marie, and good continuation! Thanks!
