– My name is Thom
Bulman, I’m representing Classic Trilogy Tattoos. ‘Cause, I’ve been
tattooing 10 years. – My name is Derek,
Classic Trilogy Tattoo. I’ve been tattooing
for 12 years. We’re very similar artists,
we’re just on different pages. – [Thom] Yeah. – Like we do the same stuff,
just totally different aesthetics to how we do it. But, coming down my route, it’s
usually illustrator realism, things that are more
realistic elements, but still have that old
tradition line work. – If you’re coming to me, you’re coming for like anything
nerdy, anything cartoons, a lot of color, a
lot of saturation. Something that just
makes you happy. – It looks better in the mirror. I think our game plan was just
to go in and stay focused, and stay on task and make sure that we build off of each other. 100 grand’s a good motivator. You know, my wife and I
have been changing our life and competing for that prize
is really going to open up that door to be be
able to do that. – You know, for me it’s
coming out and making a future and doing something
that’s gonna solidify memories for my children
later on in life. – [Derek] You point to
any tattoo, I can tell you what was going on at
that time and that’s part of the experience. – [Thom] You’re making
memories, you know. – You know, when
you’re dead and buried, your tattoos will tell the world how your brain used to think. So, I mean when you look at
’em, it kinda speaks volumes to our personality.
– They’re gonna say, “This guy’s a nerd!” – Yeah. – And I love it. – I think the thing
that helps me stand out as a good tattooer is
actually just giving a damn. How you feeling, kid? You doing good?
– Good. – Cool. – We want them to have
a good experience. Not too bad? – It’s good.
– Okay We’re basically like
a cool nerd shop. We’re big kids. – Yeah.
